1970 Buick Gran Sport

“Light Your Fire” This was the ad campaign for Buick Motor Division for the 1970 Buick Gran Sport! These A-Body GM intermediates were pretty hot in 70 and considered the height of the muscle car era. Along with its first cousin the Olds 442 and the Chevelle SS, the Buick GS was more a gentleman’s muscle car. Our Sherwood green GS here was built at the Freemont California assembly plant and sold new at Putnam Buick Inc. in Burlingame, Calif. This car was born with an automatic transmission but sometime early in it’s life was converted to 4-Speed. Sometime in the early 2000s the GS made it’s way to North East Ohio and underwent a complete body on restoration. The original 350 V8 motor was removed and put on a stand and a fresh 1972 Buick 350 motor was built using 10.25 pistons with chrome molly rings. A performance hydraulic camshaft with Stage 1 valve springs was also used along with a host of other high performance parts. The rust free California body was stripped and refinished in the correct code 48 Sherwood Green and interior was was completely freshened up in the matching color. All chrome trim is fresh and looks great. Other options would include Air Conditioning , Factory AM/FM Radio, Tilt Steering Column, Power Steering, Chrome Plated Sport Wheels. This car was professionally restored and everything works as it should. Documented with the original build sheet, owners manual, Sloan Vin. Verification Documents. Some restoration photos and a repo window sticker. Show quality throughout this is an Investment Quality Buick GS. $44,995.00.
