1955 Chevrolet Sedan Delivery

Considered to be the first Van the sedan delivery or panel van or panel wagon or whatever you choose to call it are quite rare. Only a little over ten thousand of these were built in 1955 by Chevrolet making them the lowest production vehicles of the time. Most were used up for utility and simply thrown away. Our beautiful 1955 example here was sold new in Texas and remained there until coming to Ohio around 2019. A complete, comprehensive,no expense spared frame- off restoration was completed in the early 2000s and only 7k miles have been added since completion. Powered by a 283 motor that was completely rebuilt during the restoration with a 4 barrel carb and aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold. Backing up the small block is a Chevrolet turbo 350 and a posi rear with 3.36 gears. This delivery was built for cruising and creature comforts such a “Vintage Air’ A/C system was added. Power disc brakes and power steering were also added for effortless driving. Inside the original front bucket seats were completely rebuilt and covered in leather. an era correct steering wheel (smaller) was also added and bolted to a “Ididit” tilt steering column. A “Custom Auto Sound” AM/FM cassette sound system was also added with “Alpine” speakers. Yards of Cream leather and burgandy carpet throughout the cabin.
